Bob Doody was a big kid...we had a valentine day box and I remember he gave me a special big and lacy one...I blushed and just did not know what to make of it..9 years. old..I don't want this to be about me...it is about him, stepping up and treating some one special when we were really young...

I don’t know the date or circumstances of Bob’s death, but I shall always remember him as a very loyal and considerate person, and one I called a friend. I only knew Bob during my three years at Piedmont, but was glad to have gotten to know him. I shall never forget the Friday nights that Bob, Brant Eubanks, Alan Somershoe and I would go down to the bowling alley on 12th or 13th and Broadway in Oakland and attempt to seriously disable the pinsetters legs! It is unfortunate that he, along with all our deceased classmates, will not be able to celebrate with all of us this coming October.

Yes, Bob Doody was a big kid, and I remember him from Montclair, but the one thing I will always remember was one day in P.E., we had to run a hundred yard dash. Bob and I along with some others were in the same heat, and I thought I'll win this heat with ease. At the finish line I was, at best, one half step ahead of him. A big kid perhaps, but fast. I'll miss him...
